Our elections are a cornerstone of the vibrant leadership that drives LUCOSA forward. In this year’s election, we will be electing key officers who will continue to lead us on our journey of growth, engagement, and giving back to our alma mater, Lumen Christi. Your vote matters, and this election is an opportunity to contribute to the future of our alumni association.

  • Appointment of Electoral Committee: September 4th 2024
  • Call for Expression of Interest by candidates: September 8 – September 18, 2024
  • Publication of Application & Offices and Screening: September 20 – September 30, 2024
  • Virtual Q & A session with Electoral Committee: October 1, 2024
  • Voters Registers update with Set Coordinators begins: October 2, 2024
  • Campaign begins: October 15, 2024
  • First Deadline date for financial update: October 30, 2024
  • Mock Voting: November 5, 2024
  • Closure of voters registers/Financial Update: November 10, 2024

How to Vote:
Voting is easy! You can cast your vote online during the voting period. To vote, ensure that your LUCOSA account is active and up-to-date. Voting details and platform access will be provided below in the Voting Instructions section.


2024 Election Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Only members who are financially up to date with the association are eligible to contest for any these offices.
  2. The member of their set must have fulfilled all financial obligations.
  3. The member must have attended the majority of meetings (National, Chapters,or Set) during the current year.
  4. The member must not be part of the Electoral Committee.
  5. The member must not have been permanently expelled from Lumen Christi Secondary School, Uromi.

Voting Instructions

How to Cast Your Vote:
Voting in the 2024 LUCOSA National Elections is easy and secure. Participating in the 2024 LUCOSA National Elections is straightforward and safe. Here’s what you need to do to cast your ballot:

  1. Up-to-Date Email Address:
    To vote, you must have a current email address since all voting will take place online. Ensure your email account is active (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook…) and current. Verify with your local chapter’s leadership that they have your email.
  2. Study the Candidates:
    Before you vote, it’s a good idea to look over the candidate profiles, videos, documents and most importantly attend the debates.
  3. Accessing the Voting System:
    “Electionbuddy” is the platform we’re using for this election. On the day of voting, you’ll receive a special voting link and a unique access key via email. Click on the link to begin voting. You can only vote once, and a confirmation email will be sent to you once your vote is recorded.
  4. Finalize Your Vote:
    After selecting your candidates, click “Submit”. Your vote is final once it’s submitted.
